Vision

Through study of scripture, we found six characteristics that we believe are required to be a healthy disciple. We strive to make these six things a part of every aspect of Brookfield.

Characteristics of a Healthy Disciple

Authentic Relationships are formed by growing with other people, through practicing the “one anothers” — love one another, build up one another, bear one another’s burdens, etc. Since authentic relationships can’t be forced, we’re committed to emphasizing environments where they can flourish — like Small Groups.

Discipleship is walking with other believers in the Gospel, and reminding them that the Gospel must be front and center of all we do. The key way we grow in the Gospel as a church family, is the study of God’s word.

Service is a foundational principle of Brookfield. It is through service that we not only minister to those inside the church, but also break through the walls and minister to those outside. We embrace the concept that church is all about others.

Evangelism occurs through events held on and off Brookfield’s campus, that minister to those in the community. Authentic evangelism also takes place through the natural outflow of Christ in us, to those that are around us on a daily basis. We believe each person in Brookfield is a missionary, and every day is an evangelistic event given to us by God.

Worship is absolutely a song and guitar, but it is so much more than this. Worship can be quietly enjoying a sunset or reading a Psalm. It can be using our gifts to minister to those around us. There are so many ways we can worship our Savior, and it’s our desire to give each day to our Lord as an act of worship.

Prayer is the foundation of being a healthy disciple, and is the very thing upon which the success of every other thing we do rests. We desire to make prayer a priority here at Brookfield and through it, bring the power of God into everything we do.
